LETTER FROM LONDON: Tony Blair's former Ambassador to US scathing on Iraq
Many people here are talking about Sir Christopher Meyer's collection of
memoirs, DC CONFIDENTIAL, serialised in The Guardian. This is an account of the
Blair administration's dealings with the Bush people during Meyer's tenure as
Britian's Ambassador to the USA. He is scathing of Blair and Bush, as an excerpt
(below) from the memoirs suggests.

It's Time Somebody Lowered the Boom on W British Poodle!

This is great news and long past due, if I have to say so.
The British people and nation are poorly served by the Tony Blair playing the role of W's British poodle. The USA needs a British prime minister who can tell the US president when he or she's right and when wrong, and be independent enough to make that happen, and this will be in the interests of Britain, the United States, and the rest of this world as well. |
