London police are regarding today's attacks on one bus in East London and at three underground stations spread across London as not of major significance. About a dozen underground stations are closed at this moment, and three underground lines, disrupting the 3,000,000 travellers who use the public transport network. So far, it has been detonators, not bombs, which have exploded. Many witnesses have reported loud bangs and the smell of burning wires in the three stations involved. Although the number of closed London Underground stations has increased, Metropolitan Police regard today's incidents as "not major."
Just breaking: No reported casualties on the Underground, or no "serious" injuries, perhaps; but detonators (not bombs) have reportedly been exploded. Dale Reynolds in London more »

13:30 Greenwich Savings Time Thursday, July 21 Reports are just coming in on the BBC of four emergency "incidents" on the London Underground and on one bus in Hackney, East London. The three underground stations, now being evacuated, are Warren Street, The Oval, and Shepherd's Bush, and at least three underground lines corresponding to these lines have been closed. East, central, and west London are affected. JUST IN -- A police sergeant reports to the BBC that there has been an explosion in one of the underground stations.
