The Associated Press reports that "The U.S. Marine Corps ... has been authorized to recall thousands of Marines to active duty, primarily because of a shortage of volunteers for duty in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Up to 2,500 Marines will be involuntarily recalled at a time, with no cap to the number forced to serve over the coming years. The recalls begin within the next few months.

These involuntary recalls were used at the beginning of Bush's Iraq War. The army has used involuntary recalls since Bush's Belligerencies and has forced 14,000 former soldiers back into service.

Marines enlist for four years. But what most are not told is that they have an additional four year commitment where they must train periodically and can be recalled.

Hopefully news of these conscriptions will discourage even more potential volunteers from joining a military fighting Bush's illegal wars. Am I anti-military? Only when the commander-in-chief is incompetent and uses that military for illegal wars and to pursue Bush-cronies agendas.
