To My Fellow Americans,

I want you to pay close attention to the second letter to the editor at VHeadline.com since I do get many letters from readers from around this (USA) country.  While this one woman has never written me, others just like her do, and I ask myself: What is wrong in this American government when folks feel they cannot reach out to their elected officials and express this outrage?  The other day, I included in a column a letter sent to me where a man wants to take a shotgun and end his life.  Those are the types of letters I do receive and it ANGERS me beyond belief that NO ONE in Washington, D.C. is hearing their pleas for help.  While there are some within Washington, D.C. that will openly speak out against the heinous policies and actions of this criminal cabal, they are in the minority and are often scoffed at.  They are ridiculed by the media as being quacks.  No, my fellow Americans, they are your modern day Paul Reveres.  So, I salute but a few and their names are, Cong. John Murtha, Cong. John Conyers, Cong. Sheila Jackson Lee and Cong. Maxine Waters.  To the other congress members and senators: WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!  The people are screaming out!

I fully agree with the third writer’s sentiments: “Very respectfully, we believe that the millions of US dollars wasted in waging illegal and immoral wars and destabilizing operations against democratically-elected governments could be better used in easing the suffering, hunger and cold suffered by the more than 30 million poor citizens roaming throughout the United States.”

The only thing I can say as I continue to read letters like the one written by this 64 year old lady and where our government does not hear her along with millions more from around this country is: God help us all!

To those who truly want to fight a war on terror, the third letter says it all.  Terror is not only felt when a bomb goes off, but it is felt by millions who are not seeing their most basic human needs met.  I have called it in the past, “PERSONAL TERRORISM” This personal terrorism that I speak of does not last a second as one’s life is ended by an act of violence, but it lingers as a cancerous tumor.

Sincerely,

Mary MacElveen!

I can relate to every word ... I really cannot think of anything more to say...

I really cannot think of anything more to say...

This is probably one of the most intelligent and exact descriptions of where we are as a people that I have ever read.

I can relate to every word ... I grew up watching the CBS Evening News ... during the Vietnam War there was a daily causality report: American, South Vietnamese and North Vietnamese. I could not understand how the war could continue with that many people killed each day.

I watched the last news film from the CBS crew member who was shot while filming a patrol. My parents discussed the politics of the country and the world with each other during dinner and as children we heard it all.

We knew what was happening and why.

As parents we need to continue this ... even when our children tell us that we are old fashioned and out of touch with today.

I'm so furious that I'm ready to revolt against politicians ruining the US government

I don't know if this email will ever get to you in Venezuela ... government spying is rampant here (in the United States of America), but I will try anyway. I am probably already on their "list" of people to watch!

The "people" in the United States do not think it is OK what our government is doing!

  • Most of the people here think exactly as the people of Venezuela ... they also want the same things for their families as you do....

The people in the United States are losing their freedoms and rights so quickly, but too many are so busy working several jobs just to feed and shelter their family that they hardly have time to pay attention to what is happening, much less time to do anything about it.

I am so furious that I am ready to lead a revolt against our politicians ruining our government.

However I am a 64-year-old lady ... I am doing what I can to inform as many people as possible as to what is happening, in the hope that if enough of us band together, we will have power to change things.

Ministry of Information press release regarding new Imperialist aggression

For the 2007 budget, US president George W. Bush has requested his country’s official international broadcaster, Voice of America, to improve its transmissions to Venezuela in an effort to continue his policy of meddling and destabilization against Venezuela.

This request is part of an interventionist policy sponsored by Florida representatives linked to the Cuban-American mafia in Miami and terrorists such as Posada Carriles, who has been convicted of torture, murder, airplane bombings and drug dealing.

Venezuela’s Ministry of Communication & Information is deeply concerned and worried by this rude intervention, as well as US taxpayers’ waste of money in a disloyal competition involving Voice of America broadcasting in the same propaganda that local media in Venezuela broadcasts for a lot less money and with the same results.

We understand that cultural differences make it difficult for many US administration officials to understand Venezuela's reality. Venezuela is a nation that does not engage in invasions or bombings of other nations ... there is no death penalty, torture, unlawful detention or political assassination in Venezuela.

Very respectfully, we believe that the millions of US dollars wasted in waging illegal and immoral wars and destabilizing operations against democratically-elected governments could be better used in easing the suffering, hunger and cold suffered by the more than 30 million poor citizens roaming throughout the United States.
