The
Pentagon announced this week the launch of the new Pentagon News
Channel which will broadcast military news and information for the 2.6
million members of the U.S. Armed Forces. By launching their own
channel, the Pentagon can control the stories and the spin, preventing
the already established media from interfering with their news. No need
to embed reporters from objective news sources when you can send
Pentagon reporters and order them to cover the story in a specific way.

In Bush's first term, when Bush complimented a program or an
individual, that meant that the program or individual was getting the
ax. Based on Bush's compliment of Rumsfeld today in the press
briefing (see below), is it too much to hope that Bush could be considering
replacing his DOD secretary?
