BBC News Webpage posted 11/30

Over 23,000 of New York City's children are in foster care or independent homes run mostly by religious organisations on behalf of the local authorities and almost 99% of these children are black or hispanic.

Some of these kids come from "crack" mothers and have been infected with the HIV virus. For over a decade, this became the target group for experimentation involving cocktails of toxic drugs.

Jacklyn Hoerger's job was to treat children with HIV at a New York children's home.  But nobody had told her that the drugs she was administering were experimental ...   more »

Chicago Sun Times...11/30/04

Mayor Daley's only son, Patrick, has joined the Army during a time of war.

He believes the Republican discipline will only erode over the course of the next few years because they face controversial issues such as immigration, tax reform and implementing our new "ownership society".

Brooks argues..."The president will find that with Congressional Republicans increasingly discordant and assertive, he can't pass major legislation with Republican votes alone. On issues like, say, Social ...   more »
