President Bush has lately been speaking a lot about how he is doing everything possible to track down terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who is thought to be orchestrating deadly attacks on U.S. soldiers in Iraq. What he is not saying is that the Bush administration repeatedly rejected Pentagon plans to neutralize Zarqawi in 2002 and 2003 before Bush invaded Iraq.

View Article  Federal judge orders release of prisoner abuse documents

Federal Court Judge Alvin Hellerstein in Manhattan ordered that the U. S. Government release documents pertaining to the treatment of prisioners in Abu Ghraib Prison and other detention facilities including Guantanamo Bay within 30 days. 

An estimated 17,000 plus pages were requested in Freedom of Information Act requests last October (2003) by the American Civil Liberties Union and other groups.

When issuing his order, Judge Hellerstein stated that the government had responded at a "glacial pace."
