"We must have a foreign policy that is both strong and smart. Yes, the Republicans have been strong, but they haven't been smart. And the policy is one big mess, everyone knows it."
- Senator Chuck Schumer

Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary

Published on Sunday, Feb 24, 2008

Listen to her closing words in the CNN debate on Thursday evening, and Hillary Clinton offered a concise reminder of the virtues of her candidacy, and the difficulty facing her campaign. No matter what happens, she relayed, the country will be best served by the Democratic Party coming together and achieving victory in November.

Hard to imagine now, even with primaries looming in Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania, that Barack Obama will not be the party's nominee for president. The crowds greeting him have been large and enthusiastic. He has captured 10 consecutive states, in primaries and caucuses, in the north, south, east and west, and by wide margins, eroding the base of much Clinton support.

Many Ohioans surely will join the chant ''Yes, we can!'' in the coming days. They may do so thinking about ''electability.'' This editorial page has in mind the question of which candidate would make the stronger president, which candidate is more prepared for all the Oval Office presents its occupant, and the many challenges before the country at home and abroad.

View Article  That evil Hillary Clinton took money from business PAC's and didn't disclose all of it!

HillarysatanThat evil and corrupt Hillary Clinton got a whopping 55.3% of her PAC contributions from business PACs and didn’t fully disclose a gargantuan 7.5% of her overall contributions!  Unbelievable! Barack Obama must be right! Hillary Clinton really is a corrupt politition!

On the other hand, the saintly Barack Obama only received a minscule 54.7% of his PAC contributions from business PAC’s and failed to disclose a microscopic 10.6% of his overall contributions.

Oh, wait, that’s only 0.6% a difference in the percentage of business PAC contributions between Clinton and Obama, and Obama actually disclosed a smaller percentage of his contributions than Senator Clinton!

ObamaangslOops! I wonder who Barack “Special Case” Obama will blame for this one? Obviously, it coudln’t possibly be Obama’s respomsibility, after all Obama is the only hope for survival of the United States!

I’ve got it! The politics as usual Washington crowd must have rigged the numbers to make Obama look bad and the business PACs only gave money to Obama to destroy his campaign!

Words do matter – just ask Joe Biden.

Front-runner Joe Biden withdrew from the 1988 presidential primary over an accusation of Plagiarism: He closed his stump speeches with the words of Neil Kinnock. Biden credited Kinnock each time he used Kinnock’s words — except one time — in his closing remarks during a debate. That was enough to force him from the race.

Of course, Barack “Special Case” Obama can plagiarize all he wants and it’s dismissed as the old Washington game he plans to change.

Barack “Special Case” Obama can criticize his opponents for taking special interest money, but when it is pointed out that he has done the same thing, it’s dismissed as the old Washington game he plans to change.

Nothing Barack “Special Case” Obama does wrong is his fault. It’s always fault of the Washington politicos who don’t want change.

Well, if he won’t take responibility for his lies, mistatements, and hypocrisy in this campaign. If he’s elected president, I wonder who he’s going to blame for his failures? He’s already shown he won’t take responsibility for his actions.  — GS
