"We must have a foreign policy that is both strong and smart. Yes, the Republicans have been strong, but they haven't been smart. And the policy is one big mess, everyone knows it."
- Senator Chuck Schumer

This administration and its gang must be getting really desperate with all their chicken hawkism lately especially that concerning Jack Murtha. Maybe it's the thought of that word "impeachment" and removal from office accompanied by the fear the GOP will lose the Congress in the midterm election, giving the House Speaker's to someone who definitely isn't a Republican and putting that individual right in the line of succession to the presidency to move right into the White House should such a "terrible" thing as impeachment and removal from office of the current thugs running this administration taking place.

Cindy Sheehan asked President Bush, "Why did my son have to die in
Iraq"??

Another mother asked Harry Truman, "Why did my son have to die in
Korea"??

Another mother asked Franklin D. Roosevelt, "Why did son have to die at Iwo Jima"??

Another mother asked Woodrow Wilson, "Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France"?? Yet another mother asked Abraham Lincoln, "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg"??

And yet another mother asked George Washington, "Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge"??

Then long, long ago, a mother asked, "Heavenly Father, why did my son
have to die on a cross outside Jerusalem"?? The answers to all these are similar: that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness and
freedom.

So, you see no difference between the Revolutionary War and Iraq or between World War II and Iraq?

And, what about Vietnam? I find it revealing that you left Vietnam off your list.

I also am offended that you would put the Prince of Peace dying on the cross for our sins in the same category as any war. You have a seriously warped perspective. You have every right to that perspective. You even have the right to sanctimoniously claim that you support our troops and those of us who do not support the war do not.

Let me explain something to you:

My cousin was killed in Iraq in August. My brother is in the air force and is over there now.

The implication of your statement is that those of us who do not agree that those dying in Iraq are allowing us to "have life and dwell in peace, happiness, and freedom" desire that we live in shackles or that we would be willing to let our country be overtaken by a foreign power with no resistance.

That is a blatant lie. You know it to be a lie. You should be ashamed of yourself for using the death of our brave soldiers in Iraq to attack those who do not agree with your blood-thirsty war-mongering.

You dishonor our troops by attacking those of us who believe that Bush's war in Iraq is not an honorable war.

Our troops are there to do their duty and they should be honored for that. Bringing our troops home now will in no way diminish the patriotism, courage, honor, and sacrifice of our troops whether they return home whole, injured, dismembered, disabled, or in a body bag.

If you truly supported our troops, you would demand that George Bush and the Republican Party provide the body armor and other materiel for which the Democrats have been arguing and George Bush has opposed.

If you truly supported our troops, you would demand that George Bush and the Republican Party provide proper health care and veterans benefits for our troops and their families, which the Republicans have blocked and the Democrats have supported.

If you truly supported our troops, you would demand that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the chicken-hawk cowards who never served, apologize to Jack Murtha, Max Cleland, John Kerry, John McCain, and every other veteran they have attacked as unpatriotic traitors.

If you truly supported our troops, you would demand that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the chicken-hawk cowards who never served apologize for firing General Eric Shinseki because he told them a minimum of 300,000 troops were needed.

If you truly supported our troops, you would demand that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the chicken-hawk cowards who never served apologize to every single person on this planet that accurately predicted the mess Bush has gotten us into and for which he refuses to accept responsibility.

If you truly supported our troops, you would demand that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the chicken-hawk cowards who never served apologize for and stop using the war for political gain, open up the dialog, and create a real plan for Iraq.

If George Patton, Dwight Eisenhower, Franklin Roosevelt, and others had decided on a strategy for WWII and then executed that strategy with no correction for mistakes, defeats, and reality on the ground, we would be speaking German today. That is what George Bush is doing and our troops are suffering for his stubbornness.

Tell George Bush that real men of courage, integrity, and character admit their mistakes and ask for and accept guidance from those who can contribute intellect, historical perspective, and on-the-ground reality to the strategy and planning.

George Bush won't do this because he isn't man enough to do it.

You should be ashamed for supporting George Bush.
