The 8 foot inflatable Grinch has a new friend this year. I picked him up in Normandy last winter. He's this tackly little fellow who was hanging on practically every house in northern France. Had to have him. I'm waiting for someone to call the cops thinking Santa is threatening to jump.

Media Matters for America

Media Matters for America has previously documented several media figures who have highlighted controversial comments on progressive websites. Media Matters asks: Will the media report that while discussing breaking news of hostages being taken at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-NY) presidential campaign office in Rochester, New Hampshire, numerous commenters on the right-wing website Free Republic posted hateful comments about the situation?

Examples of Free Republic comments on the situation include:

• Poster "Snoopers-868th" wrote at 10:36:23 a.m. PT: "Just another diversion or to seek attention and sympathy."
  
  

• Poster "Thompson/Hunter 2008!" wrote: "Probably a man masquerading as a pissed off Republican. Upon further investigation, it will be found out the person is really a Hillary plant, trying to make Republicans look bad."
  
  

• Poster "azhenfud" wrote: "Obviously the bomb is an implant to distract attention now focused on the Kerr Kunundrum," presumably a reference to retired Brig. Gen. Keith Kerr.

On the November 30 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, while discussing retired Brig. Gen. Keith Kerr's question about the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy during the November 28 CNN/YouTube Republican debate, syndicated columnist Dick Morris said, "You know, listen, let's put the blame where it's due. This is a dirty trick by the Hillary Clinton campaign," referring to the fact that Kerr is a member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Americans for Hillary Clinton steering committee and a co-chairman of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-NY) Veterans and Military Retirees for Hillary Committee. Co-host Steve Doocy then asked Morris, "How do you figure?" Morris replied: "Well, come on. The head of your veterans' steering committee asks a question about gay rights on the Republican debate and you don't think the campaign knows about it? Oh, for goodness' sakes, of course they know about it. ... And this campaign has already twice planted questions at town meetings. This ... goes back to the 1972 Richard Nixon dirty tricks."
