Crooks and LiarsKeith Olbermann’s Special Comment tonight on Countdown was yet another scathing rebuke of President Bush and his lies about the pending FISA legislation and fear tactics during his final State of the Union address earlier this week. Bush has said repeatedly he would veto any FISA legislation that did not include immunity for the telecommunications companies who broke the law and betrayed the American people. However, as Keith points out, if the president were to veto the legislation and there was another terrorist attack inside the U.S., he, and he alone would be responsible for it — all in the name of protecting huge corporations over the American people he was charged with protecting.

I was a little hesitant to do this post at first because I’m sure I’ll be accused of doing a pro-Hillary post. But stay with me here. Looking at this strictly on the level of media bias–and irrespective of the actual candidates–Dan Abrams asks if the media is creating a horse race that does not really exist by downplaying the lead of one candidate and playing up the rise of another just to create a media narrative. Now that actual votes are being counted, who has the delegates and who has gotten out of the race? And let us not forget the media blackout on Edwards and how that impacted his ability to gain traction nor the pundit-declared victory for ... more »

Crooks and LiarsI just got here and it’s wild outside. Reminds me of a rock concert. People cheering for Hillary and Obama. Impeach Cheney signs…There’s a palpable electricity in the air. They know this is a historic debate. I’m just getting set up…. UPDATE: (Nicole) Shy, retiring guy that he is, John neglected to remind you to catch him on the Post-Debate Round Up Countdown on MSNBC immediately following the debate. He’s scheduled to be on around 7:30pm Pacific/10:30pm Eastern. URL: Crooks and Liarsmore »

Crooks and LiarsThe “surge” theory says that Iraq is pacified. The numbers in general don’t bear that out. URL: Crooks and Liarsmore » |
