I know I have said that before, but it is now
offical. The pastor whose church is made up only of his very
large family is at it again and this doesn't even make sense, just like
most anything else the extreme right does. I borrowed this next
next text from CNN's website:
"I was with the Phelps family. They've launched a disturbing campaign to tarnish the funerals of fallen soldiers. This is a painful drama playing out at dozens of military funerals across the country. The group is led by Fred Phelps. He and his family have picketed ... more » Sunday, January 29

Some may remember that I was successful in having a letter to the editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette published on Wednesday. It read: Now is time of decision Thursday, July 28

Veterans for Peace Bus Tour Promotes Impeachment
The Times-Standard (California) July 24, 2005 Veterans opposed to President Bush and the war in Iraq were set to leave Eureka Saturday on a tour that will take them around the country. The Veterans for Peace bus owned by Patrick Tate, president of the Mendocino Chapter, was packed to head south to pick up others in Sonoma County, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara on its way to Santa Monica and the Arlington West Memorial. AFL-CIO
Convention delegates voted late Tuesday [July 26] afternoon in favor of a resolution
calling for a "rapid" return of all U.S. troops from Iraq. Eighteen
AFL-CIO state federations, central labor councils and unions had submitted
resolutions calling for an immediate or rapid end to the occupation and return
of the troops. The General Executive Council, meeting on the eve of the
convention, submitted a resolution that borrowed heavily from elements of those
eighteen but did not clearly call for a prompt end to the occupation. Tuesday, July 26

If
your congressperson has not co-sponsored the Resolution of Inquiry into
the Downing Street Minutes Rep. Barbara Lee sponsored, please ask them
to support her efforts. It's easy to do and would make a huge
difference. As Rep. Lee told a town hall crowd Saturday, July 23 the
Resolution of Inquiry is the big first step to compel the Bush
Administration answer questions and deliver key information about their
rush to war. Rep. Lee and her cosponsors need our support to make this
information public. You can help. Monday, June 20

Some in the Democratic Party (and a few "helpful Republicans") demand we abandon our core beliefs and our base in order to appeal to "the mainstream." They claim we "lose" because we're too strong on personal freedom and equality - especially protecting people from government interference in their choice to become parents or not, and protecting minorities from various threats and oppression public and private.
They don't understand that we are the mainstream. Most of the polls show most Americans agree with us on most of the issues. But more than that. Betrayal of people who depend upon us - and the principles upon which we depend - would be immoral, unthinking and political suicide. more »
