Count me in. Courage is hard to find and these
women and the CBC must have a corner on the
market in Washington.

Is there anything we can do to help their careers
or causes?

These two did what they were elected to do. They spoke out
for the people. They displayed the courage few others would even consider displaying. Hats off to them and Representative John Conyers Jr. and Michael Moore. Hats off to Mr. Geoff Staples and friends for making it possible for me to listen in on the D.C. rally and the debates in the Senate and the House of Representatives, from overseas where information of this caliber is not easy to come by.

I wholeheartedly agree. These women are heroes of the highest order. I'm disgusted with my congressman (Norm Dicks of WA) and my senators, one of whom voted no and the other was absent. I have sent nasty notes to all three and I hope they respond. What do you do when Democrats turn on you? I know what I did. I voted for Nader.

I think that these two have merit but if the goal is to win the next election I think Barbara is too left for the american public to take seriously.

Perhaps.

But, can you tell us any positions of Senator Boxer that are too far left?

We need to stand up for what we want: economic justice, universal health care, universally excellent public education, a clean environment, equality and respect for all, and treating the rest of the world fairly and respectfully.

What we need are candidates who can effectively articulate those policies in a way that destroys Republican propaganda and shows that our policies form a consistent whole based on universal values such as mutual respect.

The idea of any Democrat being "too liberal" is Republican propaganda.

Surely, you would agree that John Kerry would have done much better if he had stood up for real Democratic policies and values instead of pretending to be a fake Republican.
