The GOP has historically and overwhellmingly, with the exception pretty much of when Abraham Lincoln was alive and at the time Dwight D Eisenhower was in the White House, been all for the rich, but today the party takes that to new levels of obscenity never before seen in this country widening so grossly the gap between rich and poor, and just basically doing everything for the richest one to five per cent of this country's people and saying to hell with the rest of the country. Add to that, aligning themselves with their like numbers abroad in their all out neo conization internationally.

Envy is not a becoming trait. Why not just become wealthy like the rest of us and enjoy life instead of playing the victim card all the time. Life is way to short to be misserable all the time.

They simply refuse to acknowledge that their housekeeper, gardener, or gas station attendant is their equal and is entitled to health care, a safe neighborhood and good schools, basic housing, and nutrition for him or her self and family.

My fanatasy is that we wake up one morning to the news that every person in the United States who doesn't have a safe neighborhood, basic nutrition and housing, or a good school for his children simply stayed home from work that day. Everything would come to a screeching halt.

Actually I do all of the work around the estate myself because I find it to be very relaxing . In as much as it only takes me one or two days a week to make my pile of coins, I have plenty of time for the other tasks.

As to all of the needs that you seem to feel so very many people are lacking, I find that there is really only one major item lacking in so many folks. That is education. Fortunately I managed to receive an outstanding education before the Libs (that nasty word again) destroyed the public school system. Not sure if they did it to guarantee a dependent class always looking to the Gov't. for support or out of sheer stupidity or a combination of both.

Unfirtunately without a solid education one is doomed to be a pawn in the Libs master plan of a giant plantation with themselves telling the rest of the undereducated what is best for them.

Don't have much time to provide a long answer but I doubt you have the patience to read one anyway so to answer your two main points
1. Everyone in the country has excellent health care and if they can't pay for it the Hospitals go probono.

2. The number of people unable to read or write in the country since the 1960's (when the liberals took over the schools systems) has soared and kids no longer can do math and have little or no basic understanding of history or geography so I rest my case there.

And how about your beloved France. Looks like the chickens have come home to roost there. This rioting is historic as it is the first time that the French have even tried to defend Paris against an attacking army and so far they appear to be doing a terrible job of it.

Of course once your local hospital closes because it is handling too many indigent patients everyone is outta luck -- so Sorry.

Also, the CDC found that 18,000 uninsured people die every year because without insurance they don't get the preventive care that would have saved them.

Also, this type of care explodes our collective medical costs. For example, on a Monday, a few years ago, my brother (who was then uninsured) went to the local hospital complaining of stomach pains. On Thursday, he was brought in by ambulance for an emergency apendectomy. Three weeks later (all spent in the the critical care ward of the hospital) his peritenitis(sp) had subsided and he was released to another few weeks of recovery at home. With universal insurance he could have been treated like a former coworker who had a scope appendectomy when he complained of stomach pain and was back to work (though moving kinda slowly) two weeks later. Care to guess how many times more expense my brothers care was?

Your comment is proof that you are spouting Rush Limbaugh's talking points. Further proof that this point is rubbish is that many private hospitals refuse transport so their Doctors aren't faced with the need to provide "free" care. I think HCA's hospital in NOLA did this during the flooding.

Concerning education I suggest that you check your figures. Despite the rights claims, at the top end - educational levels in this country have been improving over the last 20 years or so - or were until NCLB. For example, both of my kids will graduate high school having completed at least 2 semesters of College Calculus. Of course, this isn't fair, I live in a liberal county where we take pride in more having one of the best school systems in the country. Perhaps that is why our real estate markets are so hot. In my neighborhood our houses have appreciated about 20% per year because we have an up and coming high school that people are willing to pay 50-100K extra (even beyond asking price) to buy a house in our district.

It is interesting that except for the funding starved schools in Califormia, most of the top-notch school systems in this country are in liberal jurisdictions which are also per capita the wealthiest. I guess if Right Wingers weren't so busy shooting themselves in the foot for the chance to fight abortion and gay rights they might have a chance at a decent education.

Why not start with the health system that includes insurance and protection for the people and then get to the financial system, I mean look for whats more important for people.
