      In reference to three previous blogs in this space (please see "Who is Behind the London Bombings") on a possible connection between certain named or suggested business concerns based, or seemingly based, in Maryland, and the Al Qaeda terrorist network, the editor of a popular online newspaper had called to my attention that "Jon David," who is mentioned in one of the blogs and positioned as suggestively culpable, " ... was a heroic hacker who broke into terrorist websites and stole their registration status, it turns out" (after the editor's own look into the matter). I was asked by the editor to pass this on.
      Assuming the editor's research has led to the correct conclusion on Jon David, I first want to offer my apology to any family or friend of "Jon David" who is offended by his mention in the aforesaid blogs, which include my own input.
      However, I maintain that a scrutiny of the very blogs on this space, and of the links to online newspapers made on these blogs and at the bottom of this article, may lead any reasonable person to speculate that something funny is, or was, going on in Maryland.
      Logic can be limited. It can lead to a seeming dead-end conclusion when there is a myriad of possibilities unseen by the more conservative inquiry. Logic can also lead to a seeming maze of possibilities which numb most people to indifference (the problem some liberals have in communicating their thoughts to others). Whether or not Jon David should be seen as a "heroic hacker" is a matter of judgement, therefore, to me, and a closer look -- from those who have known him in his home town (please see the links to newspapers, below)  -- have indicated that "Jon David" was something else besides an alleged undercover CIA sort of champion of national security.
      
      Jon David is also known by his real name, John Messner. John Messner, a failed carpenter, was famous in his home town of Ocean City, Maryland, as "The Porn King." Apparently David/Messner had amassed a fortune filming Internet porn. After (allegedly) hacking into this Al Qaeda website in question and, in effect, relieving the sites from terrorists, David/Messner was interviewed on August 9, 2002, by Mike Boettcher of CNN. David/Messner told an American TV audience: "I created the amateur housewife-next-door genre" of Internet porn.
      David/Messner even offered up his wife as one of his non-paid subjects. "I bought a digital camera and convinced my wife to get naked for the Internet," David/Messner told CNN and millions of Americans.

      Running a porn business, with his wife or not, does not necessarily make a man a terrorist supporter, of course. Or anything like one. It more likely "makes one"  a certain kind of entrepreneur, one perhaps with scales on.
      Our meticulous researcher, "Deep Sewer," has further illuminated the real life of John Messner. While known as Ocean City's Porn King, he "anonymously" and habitually sent flowers to the residents of the Ocean City's nursing homes residents. Somehow the donor was not known, and somehow he was John Messner. Aka Jon David, who was also to become a famous (though undercover) as an anti-terrorist Internet hacker.
      From the accounts (please see links below) I've read, it is not certain, at least to me, whether David/Messner actually hacked into a terrorist website or two or actually arrived on the scene to assume the domain names (registrations, and functional proprietorship) of these sites after learning they had been dismantled by federal authorities. Was John Messner, aka Jon David, a national hero?
      Or did Messner, like the flower man he was, just want to look like one?

      Whatever he was, Ocean City, Maryland's Porno King, 47, was found on April 8, 2005 at the end of a rope.
      It's been presumed a suicide.

      None of this may really matter anything to the actual national security of the United States (if only because Messner is now gone and can't hack any more sites, or claim to have done so). Then again, who knows? Is there, in some way, to some degree, an unsavory connection between certain Maryland, et. al., business concerns and Al Qaeda? Our first blogs provide some facts which could seem to suggest so. However, in light of what more I've learned about John Messner, aka Jon David, I feel safe to suggest one thing: so many things these days are just not what they may seem to be, one way or another.
