"We must have a foreign policy that is both strong and smart. Yes, the Republicans have been strong, but they haven't been smart. And the policy is one big mess, everyone knows it."

"Senator, in everything I said about Iraq, I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong and 100,000 people paid with their lives; 1600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies; 15,000 of them wounded, many of them disabled forever on a pack of lies." George Galloway to US Senate Committee 5/17/05

To My Fellow Americans,

It is especially important in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to remind the American people that while this absentee government approved of the war in Iraq and spent billions doing so, these funds could have been better used to clean up after such catastrophes.

As corporations who run our government made out like bandits where our government gave them billions and with the tax breaks to those who do not need it, this is our time to fight back with everything we have to muster.

We must stand shoulder to shoulder with those ...   more »

While Democratic Governor Blanco and Democratic Senator Landrieu were talking about rescuing people, Republican Governor Hailey Barber of Mississippi spent ten minutes on CNN talking about what he was going to do to looters.

Typical. Here's the Republican Priority:

1. Rescue weatlhy contributors
2. Secure businesses of wealthy contributors
3. Determine which rescue and recovery operations will make money for big bucks Republican contributors

To My Fellow Americans,

I find this both appalling and disgusting in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  People have lost everything, people have died, businesses ruined and where this catastrophe will increase the price of oil.  Yet, Bush finds time to play the guitar.  America, he has miserably failed you.  Then again, this does not surpise me in the least especially when he said at one time, "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." -GW Bush during a photo-op with Congressional leaders on 12/18/2000.

To My Fellow Americans,

Here is a man that Pat Robertson made death threats against and what does Pres. Chavez do?  He offers aid to those devastated by Hurricane Katrina.  He does not sound like a threat to us, a dictator or someone we need to be afraid of.  He sounds like a man we need leading this country of ours.  This is true compassion at work.  Why don’t Americans scream for such leadership?!

America's brilliant foreign policy towards Venezuela: "We just don't like him!"

VHeadline.com commentarist Mary MacElveen writes: The above statement, referring to Venezuela's democratically-elected President, Hugo Chavez Frias: "We just don't like him" was made by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice before she was appointed to her current position.

In "US campaign to ring Chavez alarm fails to resonate" an unidentified congressional aide (who did not want to be named because he was relating a private conversation) said "a bipartisan delegation of US legislators met Condoleezza Rice before she became Secretary of State to urge her to ...   more »
