Roberts and Alito Misled Us
by

By Senator Edward M. Kennedy Sunday, July 30, 2006; Page B01 I have had the honor of serving on the Senate Judiciary Committee for 43 years, during which I've participated in confirmation hearings for all the justices who now sit on the Supreme Court. Over that time, my colleagues and I have asked probing questions and listened attentively to substantive responses. Because we were able to learn a great deal about the nominees from those hearings, the Senate has rarely voted along party lines. I voted, for example, for three of President Ronald Reagan's five Supreme Court nominees. Of course, ... more »

Israel Is Not THE Enemy!

Nor is the UN: The enemy of the people of the Middle East, as elsewhere, is the Corporate State government of the United States of America as inflicted upon the world through its economic and foreign policy:
In 1917 Bolshevik communist revolutionaries overthrew the post-tsarist, pro-war government. Their revolution was both anti-capitalist-imperialist and anti-racist. In part, one great question, that of the Jewish issue, drove their anti-racist policy.
1n 1917, in contrast to the Bolshevik policy of both class and race assimilation, the British government conspired with racist ideologist organizations that embraced Zionism as a colonial movement and the Balfour ... more »

Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosa Parks, and Coretta Scott King Voting Rights Act Reauthorization and Amendments Act
Number of Democrats who voted against the bill: 0, zero, zip, nada
Number of Republicans bigots who voted against the bill: 33
These Republicans actually had the nerve to claim that it was a “states’ rights” issue which is a code phrase for bigotry and claimed that they were “insulted” that this bill “accused them of racism”.
Radio Left is offering a $5.00 reward for proof of Ku Klux Klan membership of these Republicans.
Here they are. Thirty-three Republican bigots. Please note that Republican bigots are all over the U. S. from California to New Jersey, not just the South:
 |
Bigot Richard Baker, Louisianna Republican |
 |
Bigot J. G. Barrett, South Carolina Republican |
 |
Bigot Roscoe Bartlett, Maryland Republican |
 |
Bigot Joe Barton, Texas Republican |

Bigot Jo Bonner, Alabama Republican | more »

DOES THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AS A NATION STATE, HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXIST?
By Michael O'McCarthy
In an earlier criticism of my piece on the right of the State of Israel to exist, David @ radioleft.com asked thus, if the United States of America had the right to exist? and then posited that a state does not have the right to exist “… other than by international agreement. All political boundaries are manmade. Every country is artificial.”
Let me state a preface to my conclusion --- the state of Israel has more the moral, (historical) and legal right ... more »

The Corporate Aristocracy Of The Democratic Party and the One Rebel!

The Corporate Aristocracy Of The Democratic Party and the One Rebel
The American people consistently call for an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. Every poll points that out. They indicate that they disfavor Bush's war in virtually every poll, in large numbers, no matter how "mainstream" the skew is.
Yet the so-called "Democratic Party" leaders in an amazing consistency of cowardice and incestuous engagement with the corporate state and its foreign policy has at its helm a group of opportunist politicians far too familiar to the American public.
It is one thing for the Republican Party to continue the death ... more »

Right wing calls Stone brilliant
by
David
on Thu 27 Jul 2006 12:11 PM CDT
The right wing is very confused about Oliver Stone's new movie, "World Trade Center." Their problem is that they love this film. L. Brent Bozell III, founder of the Parents Television Council, called it “a masterpiece.” Conservative columnist Cal Thomas said the film is "one of the greatest pro-American, pro-family, pro-faith, pro-male, flag-waving, God Bless America films you will ever see.” “God Bless Oliver Stone” wrote Clifford May in the National Review. To these groups, Oliver Stone represents everything bad about liberal Hollywood. He made the anti-war films "Born on the Fourth of July," "Platoon" and "Heaven & Earth." He ... more »
