I love how Michelle and “Allahpundit” magically turn an alarm clock with a 9-volt battery taped to it into bomb equipment.
There was something unusual about the man’s shoes, too. (Did I tell you that he had a MIDDLE-EASTERN-SOUNDING NAME?) The “entire soles of both shoes were gutted out.” Whatever that means. Worn soles?
Q: Hey MIDDLE-EASTERN-SOUNDING NAME GUY. What time is it?
A: Time to buy a new pair of shoes.

Yes, Roger. The shoes were READY TO BLOW - all he needed to do was pack them with explosives - and the alarm clock and battery. You might even say that he ALMOST BLEW UP THE PLANE, showing up like that - with an alarm clock, battery and a gutted pair of shoes.
A better headline for Michelle’s post might have been, “INSIDIOUS ARAB PLOT TO BLOW UP COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE THWARTED.”
