The Corporate Aristocracy Of The Democratic Party and the One Rebel
The American people consistently call for an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. Every poll points that out. They indicate that they disfavor Bush's war in virtually every poll, in large numbers, no matter how "mainstream" the skew is.
Yet the so-called "Democratic Party" leaders in an amazing consistency of cowardice and incestuous engagement with the corporate state and its foreign policy has at its helm a group of opportunist politicians far too familiar to the American public.
It is one thing for the Republican Party to continue the death and destruction militarist policy of the Neo-cons and the George Bush cabal, its another for the only standing alternative in American democracy to continue the course dressed in Republican Lite.
Its time for every "progressive" political organization to denounce these "democratic" pretenders and support only those candidates who will change American militaristic - imperial foreign policy.
The Pretenders who refuse to call for an immediate (practical/safe timeframe) for withdrawal of American troops:
1- Hillary Clinton: stay the course - fix Bush's Iraq
2- John Kerry: stay the course - fix Bush's Iraq
3- Baraq Obama: stay the course - fix Bush's Iraq
4- Evan Bayh - stay the course - fix Bush's Iraq
5- Joe Biden - stay the course - fix Bush's Iraq
6- Christopher Dodd - stay the course - fix Bush's Iraq
THE ONE LONE EXCEPTION:
6- Russ Feingold - withdraw by 12-06 ---
Support the effort to move Feingold further in changing the course of US policy and in developing a domestic policy for all working and poor Americans.
And NO, it is not enough for a one issue candidacy!
The battle this time has to be for an agenda that is a progressive foreign and domestic policy.
A Democratic Platform for the 2008 Presidency:
1-Protect the nation and its citizens through international cooperation with anti-terrorist governments; a defense system rid of corporate corruption and greed-bloat; a foreign policy that is fair in its appropriation of goods and use of labor.
2-Provide for the economic well being of children, the infirm and the elderly.
3-Provide universal aptitude-driven educational opportunities to all citizens.
4-Provide for universal health care.
5-Require and provide employment for all capable of employment with an Employee's Bill of Rights.
6-Provide adequate housing, food, clothing and necessary transport for those incapable of providing for themselves.
7-Provide for a restructuring of the Energy Complex and provide for equitable transport in the marketplace.
8- Provide for an equitable economy that will rid the nation of its deficit and foreign debt based upon an equitable tax for both corporations and individuals.
9- Provide for the enforcement of Human Rights for all people.
