Mr. Warren’s political agenda to deny human and civil rights to all people defiles our nation. It’s time to rise up and denounce Mr. Obama. We must let Obama know that we expect him to uphold and advance civil and human rights for all people, not just those preferred by his bigoted friends. We must tell him that asking Rick Warren to give the invocation at his inauguration doesn’t advance diversity or tolerance of opposing opinion any more than asking an anti-Semite, or a white supremacist to give the invocation.  GS

President-Elect B. H. Obama kicked gays, pro-choice women, and those who believe in science to the curb – again. That’s why we have warned Democrats here that Mr. Obama cannot be trusted. Sadly, B. H. Obama has proven our low opinion of him to be correct.

Given Mr. Obama’s track record, no one should be surprised that Obama has invited Rick Warren, a right-wing minister who is against gay rights, reproductive rights, and stem-cell research to give the invocation at his inauguration in January.

B. H. Obama’s choice of Warren comes after Obama decided give his campaign promise to eliminate “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and allow gays to serve openly in the U. S. Armed Forces a low priority, which will delay the action for at least two years. Given Obama’s track-record, it’s not likely he will push to implement his campaign promise.

Obama continues to claim Rev. James Meeks as a “close spiritual adviser” despite the fact that the Southern Poverty Law Center has issued warnings against Meeks which stated in part:

Meeks and the IFI are partnered with Focus on the Family, the Family Research Council and the Alliance Defense Fund, major anti-gay organizations of the Christian Right. They also are tightly allied with Americans for Truth, an Illinois group that said in a press release last year that "fighting AIDS without talking against homosexuality is like fighting lung cancer without talking against smoking." 

Obama’s “spiritual advisor” Meeks is famous for conducting Halloween Hell Houses which feature tableaus such as a woman burning in Hell for having an abortion, gay men reaping their reward in Hell when they die of AIDS, and an ecstatic Satan presiding over a same-sex marriage. Then, there’s Obama’s buddy and personal representative to the black Evangelical community, Donny McClurkin who was sent to South Carolina to pander for their vote by standing on a stage and denouncing gays and lesbians. Given the hateful atmosphere black LGBT youth experience in their homes, churches, and communities, one can wonder how many LGBT killed themselves, attempted suicide, were thrown out of their homes, or beaten up by family or others due to B. H. Obama’s despicable act of bigotry.

A perfect example of Obama’s hypocrisy – which we must grant is quite clever – is the oped Obama wrote about gay rights entitled “A Call for Full Equality”. Unfortunately, Obama creates an effect with his title, which he shatters in the text when he says, “I also believe that the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to decide on their own how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples” — In other words, it is a states’ rights issue, just like integration and miscegenation. Of course, Obama doesn’t object to the U. S. Supreme Court forcing integration or declaring bans on interracial marriage unconstitutional.

According to former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk, another Obama appointee, “we shouldn’t be ‘hyper–technical’ in our reading of Obama’s statement”.

All decent Americans, who support civil and human rights for all, must rise up in an unanimous chorus and denounce B. H. Obama. If we allow him to get away with throwing human and civil rights out the window, how can we trust him to do anything he promised? His leash needs to be jerked now, so that he will know that we will not put up with his bigotry.

Much was made of Obama’s middle name being “Hussein” during the election. That is an inappropriate slur on Muslims. Instead, we should use a name much more fitting: Bigoted Hypocrite Obama.
